MRSM Langkawi
Yass, that's my school. I've been there since February 2013. Jeez. Sounds fun huh? Uuu.. MRSM .... and it's in mother-duty-free Langkawi.... -_-
Eheh you might not be giving a care and I'm just being syok sendiri here 🙈
Believe it or not, a frequent question asked by relatives or just any adults during gatherings and all is this question to any teenagers, "Sekolah kat mana?". Dang, you don't even know my name but asked for the school I'm in??? 🙍
Geez.
And in my life, yeah sure I'll answer them "MRSM..." or either "MRSM Langkawi" to avoid the next which is "Kat mana tu?" Heh. And a lot of them went "wow.." or "oh..😮"So below are the responds I usually received from the enquirers after I answered their question.
1. "So fun! You get to eat chocolates everyday!"
-_-
For those who don't know (hehe just in case ._. ), Langkawi is a duty free island. So chocolates, liquor , tobacco and ceramic dishes are cheaper compared to the ones sold in other part of Malaysia. Not that we buy tobacco and liquor and, geez just who don't love chocolates? Ok you there can put you hand down hehe
Okay. We do get to eat chocolate everyday. If we have them in our personal food stock. And I think we also have our koperasi as back up as they sell some Loacker and Kinder whatever in there. We enjoy having Pepero in assemblies. Basically, yeah, we do get to eat chocolates everyday. If we want, and if we can afford it too of course.
2. "Wow! Best lah tu dapat jalan-jalan"
-_-
This is one of the thing Maresmawians and I have agreed.
We do not get to jalan-jalan. Freely.
Even on outings and for trips.
You see, we're only allowed to go outing from 2.30pm to 6pm once in a week. In that 3 hours and half, we don't get, and can't go far. We're only allowed to Kuah area when with friends. And we cannot go to cinemas.
What about school trips? Sounds like primary school students but we occasionally have them for certain activities. And, honestly, it's fun. We get to go to beaches and parks and bazaars. And of course there's guru pengiring. And at beaches we are not allowed to get ourselves into the water even to rendam our feet. And we cannot go to the the cable cars for safety reasons. Our safety is under our teachers' responsibility.
And as for example that we had activities at the beaches, below are photos from the picnic our batch had in Form 3. At Pantai Pasir Tengkorak.
We had fun 😊
And if you look good enough the pic below, you can see some boys umm what are they doing there playing eh hahaha. Aahh I'm so nice to put this pic large you know. Yeah we are beauties and we know it 😙
Well, maybe people just want to say that I'm lucky that my school is in a pretty place. Eh? That, I'm not sure but you can get a stunning morning view everyday with a green hill exactly in front of our school.
Focus at the hill on the background. This is the picture of some seniors. Not lying
3. "Pergi sekolah naik apa?"
...
Basically people ask this because I domicile in Selangor and, ahem, Langkawi is in Kedah. So faraway you know
So.... we either go back and forth by ⛴ or by ✈
And, for the KL, Selangor and Putrajaya students, we prefer to take the airplane. Not because it sounds classy (eh?) but because it is just convenient and safe.
Sounds fun, eh? Get to go to school by airplane (literally).
Some even take that as their reason to apply to our school, really.
Some asked, if the flight tickets are pricey. All I can say is that find the right time to buy flight ticket. Buying early would help and be alert with airline promotions.

I hope you don't think that I'm being smug or bragging here because I just want to umm tell you exactly that... do we sound that exciting? With chocolates and tourist attractions around us? Because here I'm telling you that we are not that exciting. Eh?
And if you are one of those people who wants to go to MRSM Langkawi for some reasons that I may have explained above, think again 💆
